Celery Science Experiment
– Leafy celery stalks (the inner stalks work best) – Food coloring – Water - 4 small containers
Materials Needed:
Start by filling 4 small jars halfway full of water and add food coloring to each jar. We used red, orange, blue and black.
Step 1
Then add the celery stalks to each glass & mix.
Step 2
Wait 24 hours and notice how the colors of the leaves have changed to match the water.
Step 3
Look at the bottom of the celery stalk. The capillaries that carry the water to the leaves have changed color!
