Beach Ball Pool Noodle Game * ages 2+

Here;s a fun outdoor, summer game and can be set up in minutes and provide hours of fun!

MATERIALS NEEDED: (affiliate links)

Pool noodles (we bought ours at Five Below for $1 each)

Duct tape

Wooden dowels or pencils

Beach ball (or lightweight ball)

Check out the boys in action playing the game in the below video:

THE SETUP:

1. Start by taping two pool noodles together with duct tape so the ends are flush. Repeat so you have two super long pool noodles. These are your goals.

2. Insert wooden dowels (or pencils)about 4 feet apart at the end of each side of the field or lawn you will be playing on. Then insert the double long pool noodles onto the dowels. These will be your goals.

3. Next cut some pool noodles in half. (I find a bread knife works best for cutting noddles) Each half noodle will be a stick for a player. Make enough to accommodate all the players.

4. Blow up your beach ball and you are good to go!

HOW TO PLAY:

There are tons of ways you can play depending on how many players you have. We started off with my oldest son (age 9) on his own team and my younger sons (ages 5 & 7) against him. Start with the beach ball in the center of the field and the players each in front of their goals. On the count of three everyone runs for the beach ball and tries to hit it towards their opponent’s goal.

We allowed goals to be scored by the beach ball rolling through from either side. We also played one-on-one and that seemed to be a little easier for my 5 and 7 year olds. This activity is great for building gross motor skills!

Even my 2 year old enjoyed taking the half noodle and hitting the beach ball around the lawn!

Fun for all ages!
