DIY Marbled Ornaments * ages 4+

We love making our own ornaments around the holidays! It’s such a perfect time of year to get kids creating and then proudly display their work around the house! These DIY marbled ornaments are super simple to make (although they are a bit messy), and the results will amaze you!

MATERIALS NEEDED (affiliate links):

* Clear plastic round ornaments (we got ours from Michael’s)

* Finger nail polishes in many colors

* A shallow (preferably) disposable bowl

WHAT TO DO:

1. Fill the bowl about halfway with water.

2. Add a few drops of nail polish in various colors to the water. Try to use colors that complement each other and will look good together.  Or let the kids go crazy and see what fun color combinations they can come up with.  I kept them to about 3-4 colors per ornament and it seemed to work well.

3. Dip the ornaments in the water. Swirl them around so the nail polish covers them completely. Note that the nail polish does smell strong so this activity should be performed in a well-ventilated room.

4. Hold for a minute in your hand to allow the nail polish to dry a bit, then set on a covered surface to dry the rest of the way – about 20-30 minutes.

That’s it! We made a whole bunch of ornaments in about 30 minutes!  I’m torn as to weather to keep them in a bowl for displaying or put them up on the tree!
