Floating Lids Math Facts * ages 4+

Floating Lids Math Facts 💡 ages 4+ 💡 I’m always looking for ways to make practicing math facts fun, and this one was super easy to pull together and lots of fun!

MATERIALS NEEDED (affiliate links):

Large tray or bin (We found ours at the Target dollar spot!)

Lids (We used baby food pouch lids, but any type of small lid would work.)

Permanent marker

WHAT TO DO:

1. Start by writing numbers 1-10 on the top of the lids. We used yellow lids for the numbers and orange lids for the math symbols.

2. Next fill the tray with enough water so the lids can float freely.

3. Finally, add the lids so that the numbers are face down.

HOW TO PLAY:

have the child pick 2 numbers and 1 math symbol and solve the math problem. Once solved, place the lids back in the water, mix them up and pick again!

MODIFICATIONS BY AGE:

For younger kids (4 and under) have only numbers in the tray and have them select a number and identify it.

For older kids (8+) use only multiplication and division math symbols. Or have them pick 4 number lids and make the numbers 2 digit numbers.
