Bread Bag Clip Alphabet Activity * ages 3+

Bread Bag Clip Alphabet Activity 🍞 ages 3+ 🍞 We’ve been collecting the little plastic tabs from our bread bags (Did you know they can be called bread clips, bread tags or bread ties as well?) for a while and now we finally have enough to do some fun activities! Since Oliver is working on his letters as he gets ready to enter kindergarten in the fall, I decided to make a simple alphabet game. I used a permanent marker to write each letter of the alphabet on a tab, then laid them all out on a mat and asked Oliver to put them in the correct order. Not only was he working on mastering his letters, he was building his fine motor skills as well!

This activity could easily be done with numbers, shapes, sight words or math facts for older kids. For toddlers, it could be used as a sorting-by-color activity. You could also make different color patterns with tabs and work on pattern recognition. The possibilities are endless really! Bread clips are definitely one of our new favorite recycled materials!
