Reusing empty paper towel and toilet paper rolls has taken on an art form in our home. There are just so many fun ways to reuse these useful little rolls in educational ways! This paper towel roll people toddler activity is so simple to set up and will keep your toddler entertained and learning! It’s perfect for building fine motor skills and teaches toddler about the body.
Here’s a fun fine motor activity that took only a few minutes to pull together and was great for teaching about body parts and feelings!

HOW TO MAKE PAPER TOWEL ROLL PEOPLE
Materials Needed:
- Empty paper towel rolls
- Scissors
- Markers
- Paper towel roll holder
WHAT TO DO:
- Start by taking an empty paper towel roll and cutting it into 1.5 – 2.5 inch sections.
- Next draw different body parts onto the various pieces including:
* feet/shoes
* pants/skirts
* shirts
* faces
* hats
We drew two options on each piece. For example, bare feet and boots on the foot piece. This gives the child lots of different options for customizing the person they are building. - Finally, ask the child to stack them on the paper towel holder in the correct order.
Alexander had so much fun putting the people together in the correct order and he had even more fun being silly and putting the people together incorrectly to make a crazy looking person!
This activity is a perfect way to teach toddlers about body parts and allows them to problem solve by building the body in the correct order. Also great for building fine motor skills!
