Pool Noodle Flip Challenge * ages 4+

Pool Noodle Flip Challenge 💡 ages 4+ 💡 Here’s a fun challenge for kids and adults (I have to admit I enjoyed it as much as the kids)!

Materials needed (affiliate links):

Pool noodles

Serrated knife (bread knife)

Start by having an adult cut up a pool noodle into shorter pieces using the serrated knife. We cut some into 12 inch, 18 inch and 24 inch pieces. (The shorter ones worked great for the younger kids and the bigger ones for the older, but they also enjoyed trying all the different sizes.)

The objective is to balance the pool noodle on the palm of your hand and then flip it in the air and have it land back on your hand standing up. You can do a half flip (180 degrees) or a full flip (360 degrees). Definitely start with half flips and work your way up to full flips.

This challenge is not only really fun and entertaining to watch, it’s great for improving gross motor skills, concentration, patience and hand-eye coordination! Such an awesome outdoor, summer activity!

An additional variation would be to balance the pool noodle vertically on the palm of the hand with no flips involved.  The one who keeps it balanced the longest wins!
