Toilet Paper Roll Dinosaur Craft * ages 3+

Empty toilet paper and paper towel rolls are probably our most loved and most used recycled object. This adorable toilet paper roll dinosaur craft is made using just an empty toilet paper roll and can be made in just a couple of minutes!

MATERIALS NEEDED:

WHAT TO DO:

  1. Start by taking an empty toilet paper roll or paper towel roll and pressing it flat. If you use a paper towel roll cut it into about 4-5 inch long sections.
  2. Then draw the shape of your dinosaur like the picture below. Don’t worry, it doesn’t have to be exact as every dinosaur can look a little different.
  3. Take your scissors and cut along the lines you drew. Be sure to cut through both layers.
  4. Now open up the toilet paper roll and you will see the legs and body of the the dinosaur formed.
  5. To complete the dinosaur, fold the top point down to make the head. Then attach googly eyes (or use maker to draw on eyes) and your dinosaur is complete.
  6. To personalize the dinosaurs, give kids crayons, paints or markers (We used oil pastels which worked great too.) and allow them to decorate their dinosaurs.

Such a fun activity and the kids can play with the dinosaurs afterwards! What other animals could we create using this method I wonder?
