Valentine’s Day Sensory Bin ❤️ ages 3+ ❤️ Seasonal sensory bins are a favorite in our house and making this one for Valentine’s Day was so super simple, I just had to share it.

What to do:

  1. Add rice and all items to your bin and let the playing begin. That’s it! There are no rules here. Sensory play is all about letting them explore, experiment and play.
  2. Mess factor: If you find your child is throwing the rice out of the bin, give them instruction to keep everything in the bin. If they do it again, stop the play and tell them we needed to stop because the rice was not staying in the bin and we’ll try again later. I have found this technique to work well when teaching kids to play with sensory bins and it really keeps the mess to a minimum. You can also place a towel or sheet beneath the bin to help contain any spillage.

Alexander loved filling up the red heart with rice, closing it up and shaking it. These bins are so calming for kids I like to always have one available. It usually will occupy the for a good 20 minutes which is a long time for little ones!
